Long runs are by far my favourite runs because you can go exploring, long runs build up your endurance and test your mentality. However some days it is hard to stay motivated. This blog post is about some of the ways I stay motivated on long runs.

As I mentioned in my last blog post I made Alice some cupcakes for her birthday to have after our XC, they were a hit and the recipe has been requested so here we are. It was quite funny because on the way to Bexhill Alice was talking about how she wished she made some coffee and walnut cupcakes or avocado brownies. Beth and I had to keep quite because we both knew that the cupcakes I had made were in the boot waiting haha.
This race was tough, much harder than last time I raced here (which I actually loved).
We set off on our lil road trip to Bexhill; Alice, Beth, Flo, Beth’s mum and I. The motivation in the car to race was low; it was cold and we were tired. We arrived early so we went into Bexhill town centre to find a café, which was harder than you would think because some of them were…well… strange but also we were bursting for the loo after a long car journey. We found one which was quite nice and had a hot cup of tea to warm up. We got back in the car and headed back to... (yes we are wearing matching tops in the photos - it was unintentional)
Last weekend, Beth and I decided that we were going to run up Kingley Vale. At 8:45 Beth ran to mine, it was freezing but it was very sunny and pretty; perfect to run on the South Downs. We set off up Adsdean, it was quite hilly but very autumnal with the golden leaves. As we were climbing quite a steep hill and group of mountain bikers came whizzing down the hill quite fast and nearly ran us over which was quite scary. We continued up the hill and got a few snaps of each other and the views, we then successfully reached the top of Kingley Vale but that is where it all went downhill, literally. We decided that... FRIDAY FIVE!! Happy Friday everyone!! I hope everyone has had an okay first week back at school and if you are still on half term- LUCKY! This week has been quite busy for me with school work, training and other commitments. On Monday I had three mocks – one in each subject which was quite stressful but nice to get them done at the start of the week. Tuesday I had another mock in chemistry. All tests are over now so I can enjoy the weekend and some good training with some hopefully good weather, this then leads me on to the…theme…subject… whatever it may be called but my FRIDAY FIVE – basically five things I have been loving lately. |
