I was going to write blog post on my trip up to London with Prodirectrunning and Adidas but I wrote quite a bit on my post and thought you guys wouldn’t want to read it twice. There will be a post up in the next few weeks with the photos though.
Today marks the end of mental health awareness week (or if you count Sunday as the first day of the week, then last week was mental health awareness week.) I thought I would talk about self-esteem and confidence as I feel it is something that people in today’s society lack. I have also just handed in my EPQ about exercise and mental health so I do know quite a lot about it now and find it interesting. It is scary how many people suffer from mental health issues at the moment, the lack of support in today’s society and the stigmas surrounding these diseases.

As you all probably know by now I have recently started triathlon with CWTC and I have to say it was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time! I used to do triathlon club when I was in Year 8/9 but never really took it seriously. I only ever did one race, the Chichester aquathlon which I really enjoyed despite being extremely nervous as I knew everyone would be better than me in the pool. I have mentioned in a previous blog post that I have been swimming since I was very young. When I lived in Portsmouth I swam for a club but when we moved I didn’t continue for very long, I had a break from swim training. Since my injury last year and another one this year I have built my stamina back up and have improved massively in the pool (without sounding too boastful) and I have also rediscovered my love for swimming (#cringe). After speaking to a few friends, deciding whether to join triathlon or a swim team, I decided on triathlon because it would allow me to incorporate my love for running and swimming and I also wanted to get into cycling (hence why I had been saving up for a road bike since November). After my inconclusive poll on my story I have decided to write a post on Be:Fit 2018. I will write about starting triathlon next weekend so keep your eyes peeled. Yesterday morning wasn’t exactly relaxing. I woke up to my Mum going to hospital; she thought she had broken her foot and couldn’t walk (luckily it wasn’t broken after an X-ray). This meant that Beth and I had to go up on our own. We got the tickets fine and got on the train ok until we reached Gatwick. This is where it all went wrong. The train broke down and we had to get another one but we had no idea where to go or which platform. We finally arrived at Victoria and got the tube to Angel station. After a quick walk we arrived at Be:Fit. We hadn’t booked any classes but as soon as we turned up someone said there were spaces available in the spin class, so we jumped in. We had no idea what we were in for but we love a good spin class. |
