I am exhausted right now after my first XC of the season and a full on week but it was so nice to get back on the trails. Today’s race was the Sussex XC relays at Goodwood. It was quite a hilly course but not very muddy at all despite the downpour of rain. I made a mistake wearing my spikes because much of the course was flint or concrete so didn’t do my spikes much good at all.
The race went well, coming 1st under 17 in my part of the relay and overtaking 7 people within the race which I was quite proud of. This race proved to me that I haven’t lost too much with my time out of training in the summer due to my knee injury. My performance was not as strong as it was at the end of last season but I cannot expect to perform at my best in every race, especially in the first race of the season. The only infuriating thing that happened today at the race was the time we wasted waiting for a medal ceremony that never happened, it was cold and wet and I had work to do ready for my tests next week in Biology and Chemistry. Anyway… anybody else have any races this weekend….how did they go? Hope everyone has had a good week and has a good week next week! Sorry for the short blog post… “Over and out, Imogen”
