The other night I put on my Instagram story one of the ‘ask me a question’s. There was a good mix of questions and quite a few repeated ones. Let’s start this lil’ Q&A session, shall we? I’m going to post the first half this week and the other half next week otherwise it would be one long post. Q1: What is my favourite sports clothing brand? This is actually pretty tricky because it so depends what for; whether it is for the gym, swimming, cycling, running clothes, running shoes, casual wear… ahh this is super tough. I think I am going to have to be basic and go with Nike. My swimming costumes are Nike – they are super comfy and have awesome patterns. Most of my running stuff is also Nike too, are you really a runner if you don’t have Nike Pros? Heehee (joking). Q2: What does my training at university look like? I never got the chance to join in with the run or bike sessions due to my ankle. I had planned to try them after Easter break but unfortunately we will have to wait until 2nd year now. My weeks were never the same due to the volume of university work changing each week, how I was feeling and what state my ankle was in. Some weeks I didn’t get much training in whereas others I would get quite a bit in. They followed a similar structure which I will describe below: Monday: 1hour S&C, 1h30 swim Tuesday: Usually a gym session and a short run or wattbike Wednesday: 2hour swim, rehab before bed Thursday: Run and 1hour S&C with performance squad – this was a coach led gym session focussing on particular muscle groups specific to triathlon. Sometimes Thursday’s were a rest day if I had a crazy week. Friday: 1h30 swim, 1hour yoga session Saturday: Rest Day. Sometimes it was a 1h30 swim session with performance squad. There would always be a rest day in the week though! Sunday: It would depend – could be a cycle, gym, run or swim – honestly just went on how I felt at the end of the week, I would often be whacked out so was more of a sanity session. Q3: What is my favourite breakfast? I think I will have to stick to my heart here and say porridge as it can be changed in so many ways! The list of toppings and flavours are endless! Q4: If you could travel anywhere right now where would it be? I mean seeing as we are in lockdown I won’t be travelling anywhere any time soon haha (crying inside) but all the more reason to dream. I honestly couldn’t choose for the life of me though, here are a few places I would love to go to:
Q5: How to start a blog? There is no specific way to start up a blog part from just go for it, believe in yourself and just do it! 1. Decide what you want it to be about 2. What will you name it? 3. Which platform will you use?
Q6: What inspired you to start blogging? I honestly can’t recall exactly why I started Thekeanbean but I will always remember seeing @fruitsandroutes @teenrunnerblog and @race.with.grace blogs and thought it would be fun to do as well as a way to share my experiences. It started off with mainly race recaps and training until I opened up about my overtraining and shared other aspects of my life. I am so glad I finally made my blog; I may not be blogging famous or have thousands of followers but I enjoy meeting new people through it, helping others and just writing about what I love! Stay safe everyone!
